NEEMA-Nepali Short Movie

Neema is a story of six years old Nepali village girl who has got dream like other normal girls, who wants to fly free like a bird in the sky, who wants to learn, who wants go to school, who wants to be happy but everything goes opposite.

THEY ARE NOT REAL ACTORS BUT IMPROVISED ACTORS, NONE OF THE ACTORS HAVE DONE ANY KIND OF PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS.

MAKING OF NEEMA- We filmed the whole movie with in 2 days (Nepal banda ko din) in the location of Mangalpur Chitwan Nepal without proper lighting,crew and casts with no budget basically.

FACTS-

Two-thirds of the world’s 799 million illiterate adults ages 15 and over are women-UNICEF

Globally, it is estimated that between 700,000 and four million (UNFPA, 2000) people are trafficked each year. There is no accurate figure of the scale of trafficking girls from Nepal. Despite published figures suggesting that between 5,000 to 7,000 Nepali girls are trafficked for sex work each year, and that 200,000 Nepali girls are working in the sex industry in India, the actual magnitude of trafficked girls from Nepal is unknown (O’Dea 1993; Human Rights Watch 1995; Rozario and Rita 1988).
